E-verify Income tax returns through a bank account

If you want to e-verify ITR after filing it, you can use a bank account. ITR verification Via bank account is the easiest and safest way of E-Verification. You can E-verify your income tax return by following the steps given below.

Step 1: Your bank account number should be prevalidated to e-verify the return through a bank account.

Step 2: To validate the bank account number, the bank account number has to be linked with the PAN.

Step 3: After validating the bank account, Visit the income tax e-filing website at www.incometax.gov.in. 

Step 4: Now click on the link ‘e-Verification’ on the Income Tax website.

Step 5: Now select the option ‘Return Verify’ from the e-Verify section located on the left side of the e-filing portal.

Step 6: Select the option ‘Generate Electronic Verification Code (EVC)’ And click on the ‘Continue’ button for the next step.

Step 7: Now a form will open in front of you. Click on submit option to generate OTP by filling in your bank account details.

Step 8: An EVC will be sent to your registered mobile number which should be filled in the given ‘Enter EVC’ box.

Step 9: Fill in the EVC and click on submit button. Now your IT Return will be verified through a bank account.

Step 10: SNow, the Success message “Return successfully e-verified” will be displayed on the screen. download and keep it for future use.

 

CBDT has reduced the time limit of ITR verification:

IT department has reduced the time limit for e-verification from 120 days to 30 days after filing ITR. According to the new notification of CBDT, now the date of filing the return electronically will be deemed to be the same if Form ITR-V is submitted within 30 days from the date of transmission of data electronically.
