On November 15, PM Modi will launch the PVTG Development Mission worth Rs 24 thousand crore for tribals.
PM Modi is giving this gift on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day. This was announced in the Union Budget 2023-24.
This budget is specifically aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of vulnerable tribal groups (PVTGs).
This is the first such mission after independence which will ensure the overall development of the vulnerable tribal group.
The PVTG Development Mission will be implemented through the convergence of 11 interventions from 9 ministries.
According to the report, there are 75 PVTGs spread across 18 states and union territories.
These PVTGs live in about 22 thousand 544 villages in 220 districts whose collective population is about 28 lakh.
Under this scheme, PVTG families and settlements are provided road and telecom connectivity, electricity, safe housing.
Under the PVTG scheme, families will be ensured clean drinking water, sanitation, education, health and nutrition.
