Adani Group on Tuesday said it has acquired a 29.18 percent stake in NDTV

The Adani Group will now launch an open offer to buy an additional 26 percent stake, which requires SEBI approval.

Let us tell you that the Adani Group intends to acquire an ownership stake in NDTV.

If Adani's open offer of 26 percent is successful, then its total stake in NDTV will exceed 55 percent.

Three Adani Group companies AMNL and Adani Enterprises Limited will buy a stake in the open offer.

This open offer will be at Rs 294 per share, which is about 20 percent less than the current price of the share.

Adani Group has bought Vishwapradhan Commercial Private Limited (VPCL) for Rs 114 crore.

VPCL had pledged 29.18 percent equity shares of RRPR Holdings Private Limited, a promoter group company of NDTV.

Market regulator, SEBI's approval is required to acquire a stake in RRPR Ltd, the promoter arm of NDTV.

The Adani Group will spend around Rs 493 crore to buy an additional 26% stake in NDTV.
