What are Federal Pell Grants?

Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students. The amount depends on your financial need.

Students enrolled in a postbaccalaureate teacher certification program may also receive a Pell Grant.

Federal Pell Grant lifetime eligibility is limited to 12 semesters or the equivalent. check for the school’s deadline.

If you are currently incarcerated in a state or federal penal institution, you will not be eligible for a federal Pell grant.

The Federal Pell Grant award is Up to $6,895 for the 2022–23 award year (July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023).
